We welcome all players at St Francis RFC—from those wanting to try rugby for the first time, to those looking to get back into the game, and to those who just want to rediscover their love for playing rugby.

At St Francis RFC, you can be guaranteed an inclusive environment with no politics—just a group of players there for a good time and who love to win! We’re open and straightforward because life’s too short; we want to have fun and win when we can, especially since we’re aiming for Steve Hand to win the double. Feel free to ask about the legendary Steve Hand if you’re interested in joining. ;)

What also sets us apart is our "No Dickheads" policy. We just want to have a good time, and if you’re not contributing positively to the team, we’ll let you know!

We see ourselves more as a family than a team. We know we’re never going to be full-time professionals, but we just want to enjoy playing rugby. That’s why we embrace a progressive style of play, but unlike other teams, we also appreciate the defensive side.

If you’re new to rugby, we have players and coaches who will help you get up to speed on the basics and get you into the right games, so you can build your confidence and, more importantly, enjoy your rugby. St Francis RFC is different from other clubs because we encourage you to make mistakes. We believe you either win or learn. As we said, we’re not professionals—just an awesome group of individuals who want to have a good time, enjoy ourselves, and win when we can.

And if you feel you want to play at a higher level, we’ll never hold you back. We genuinely want you to succeed, and what’s great about St Francis is that players who move on to higher levels often come back to help elevate the club.
